Sum-In-1
Sum-In-1
May 2011
Aaron Mostow, aka Sum-In-1, aka Mr. Grammatical.
Los Angeles, California.
I’m an emcee, producer and hip-hop activist.
I began getting involved with the culture of hip-hop at the age of 13, starting with break dancing and graffiti. I started DJing at 16, and began writing rhymes and freestyling with my friends at 17. Then I started beatmaking my first year of college. It’s definitely been a great experience having been involved with all of the elements of hip-hop. In many ways the culture of hip-hop has saved my life and helped to keep me on a positive track.
Rockin’ a house party was my first live performance. It was a good time because I was surrounded by people I knew, and I felt confident and comfortable without having to try to impress anyone. I was just having fun.
I want to live off what I love to do: And that’s making music.
Enjoyment and a memorable experience.
My family’s my biggest influence. I’ve also been greatly influenced by music in general.
Lyrics in my head that I need to write down.
My new, free mixtape, Tha Hour Glass, hosted by DJ Leviathan. A couple new singles hitting iTunes: “Elevate” and “Have U Heard.” And I’m also releasing the title project, Have U Heard, which is a full-length album that should be out this summer.
