Amadeus The Stampede
Amadeus The Stampede
March 2015
I’m Amadeus The Stampede, aka The Elephant Man, aka Kill Face.
I live just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I grew up in Downtown Boston, but I can’t afford to live there now, even though I would love to.
Drugs and music. I engineer, mix, produce, write, record and catalog my own work.
About 20 years ago; just playing around with it. I was always nice with it, took to it immediately and was encouraged to do so. I started my career in 2003. Before that, I was dumbing out on some illegal movements.
I freestyled off the head my first time on stage, and the crowd loved it. I got a lot of compliments and positive responses, and not one negative word, so I’d say it was great.
I’d really like to be able to provide for myself and loved ones from my work. I’d also like to get recognition for being great. I realize that the game’s oversaturated and overcrowded, so I just hustle for money and never complain about my career. I know I’m great, so I don’t care about fame and fortune if it costs me my family.
I want my work to touch people on an intellectual level and get them emotionally stimulated when they hear it. If I give you the chills, then I’ve done my job. I also want people to learn from my story: I’m an autodidact that could’ve been a doctor by 22 had the system of played fair. I want people to know that the ghetto’s not just filled with ignorance and idiocy: There’s genius on these blocks.
My biggest influences have been my experiences. Besides that, you can hear Cobain, Shakur, Mathers and Wu Tang, along with some Mobb Deep in my styles. I’m also deeply influenced by drugs. I believe that medicine isn’t just sold in stores; it’s natural and abundant.
I take very strong medications to sleep at night. I’ll say that the nights I do spend awake, I’m building and thinking about bettering the world and myself. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping because of a stressful situation that took place that day.
More music. I’m going to continue to create and release new projects as long as I have the ability to do so. Spilling Blood On The Dance Floor is available now. And my next project, Doppelgänger, which is entirely self-produced and features some live instrumentation, will be releasing soon. I also have a bunch of mixtapes and a new group Tasmanian Cannibals that I’m going to be releasing, too.
