Who are you?
After The Smoke, a creative collective from Tallahassee, Florida. We write, produce and create art. Led by frontman and illustrator Rob Coin and supported by producers Soft Glas and Daygee.
Where do you live?
NYC.
What do you do?
We produce dope records and create awesome visual art.
When did you start?
We started making music and taking it seriously over 10 years ago—back in college.
How was your first show/performance?
Our first show was life changing. After having heard the crowd’s reaction to something we made from scratch; it made us want to give up everything else and continue to grow as a group.
What would you like to gain from your work?
We’d love to work with artists all across the map, travel regularly and have a few art studios throughout the world.
What would you like your audience to gain from your work?
Our perspective on culture… And if we can contribute to young people thinking outside of their comfort zones, that’d be awesome, too.
Who or what are your biggest influences?
Our biggest influences come from artists like Thelonius Monk that created art in an unorthodox manner but left behind something timeless.
What keeps you up at night?
We don’t like to leave our ideas incomplete. We’ll stay up for hours till we can get those creative juices splashed on a canvas/beat. And that Adderall… [laughs]
What’s next?
The next project we’re working on is called Liquid Light Show. We plan on releasing that later this year.
