Funk Gero. A 5-man hip-hop collective from Hartford, Connecticut. Funk Gero consists of 3 emcees (The Sloth, ZCP and Jaden Castro) and 2 producers (Hologram and Mike Hall).

We live on Planet Garboon but come down to Earth sometimes.

We make various forms of hip-hop music that challenge the mind musically and lyrically.

We’re a relatively new group… Early 2013, maybe? In this dimension, at least, our collective spirits collaborate eternally.

Surprisingly, not that bad. Very underground, which is our preferred setting.

We’d like to gain the certainty of knowing that the music we’re providing is creating a feeling or connection to the listener; the same way that we respond when we listen to music ourselves. It would be a dream come true to know that people around the world are making personal connections with our music. Depending on the person, those feelings or emotions may vary, but just the thought of many people listening and reacting in different ways to our work is a priceless notion to all of us.

We would like our audience to be able to connect with themselves through our work. We achieve our sound through personal individuality. That being said, we hope that people connect to and interpret our music according to who they are and what they believe. One person may feel a different way about a line or sound; but we do too, and that’s the beauty of the group. We may have a preconceived idea or direction, but that doesn’t mean an interpretation that differs is wrong, because there’s really no wrong understanding. Our general theme was created to help our listeners relate to us on a personal level, however, for the listener there’s no specific vibe or theme they should get as this can vary with each individual.

Our influences range from many genres of music from different time periods. We hope this is quite evident through the sounds we provide.

As cliché as it might sound, what keeps the group up at night is our striving for perfection.

Quality, well thought out albums that intrigue the listener and reflect our greatest capabilities both as a collective and as individual artists. We want to realize our dreams as artists and persevere to reach our goals of power and influence within the genres we reflect.
