Who are you?
Nathaniel Eras, aka ERAS.
Where do you live?
I’m currently living in Los Angeles around the Echo Park/West Lake area. I was born in Fresno, California, and spent what would have been my college years in the greater Bay Area.
What do you do?
In terms of audio: I make beats, songs and experimental electronic noise. As far as other things go: I like to paint and create visual art—although I’ve never gotten around to getting any good at it.
When did you start?
A long time ago…
How was your first show/performance?
Nuts. The moment I started all my pent up fear just faded away, and I wound up having a blast. I’ve never looked back, just forward.
What would you like to gain from your work?
1.) The opportunity to have a positive influence on the world.
2.) To keep progressing as an artist and developing in other areas of visual art.
3.) More touring, meeting new people, collaborating with other artists and composing for films, etc.
4.) To acquire things made out of silver and gold.
What would you like your audience to gain from your work?
To either amplify or pacify their current mood and/or situation (depending on which is more desirable). I just want people to feel good when they hear my stuff… Music is something that goes inside a person’s head; I can never really tell what effect it will have on any given individual. All I can do is try and make it nice for each listener.
Who or what are your biggest influences?
That list could literally go on forever… Let’s just say life.
What keeps you up at night?
Me and my random, crazy thoughts. Seriously.
What’s next?
I want to do more shows. If anyone wants to do a show or needs an opening act, get at me. Peace.
